Watts’ wetland experience includes assessments, delineations, permitting, and mitigation design. Our lead wetland scientists have worked on a variety of projects, often with the assistance of our environmental scientists, including two trained in wetland delineation. Our engineers, scientists and landscape architects are experienced in hydrology and natural sciences provide mitigation design. The most recent wetland projects include: NY Rte 17 Access Modification – Conducted wetlands assessment and delineation for the NYSDOT in a project area covering 14 miles of forested corridor on either side of the newly designated Interstate 86 (NY Route 17) and reconfigured CR 60 in the Towns of Elmira, Ashland, and Chemung in Chemung County, New York. This project will realign the highway closer to the Chemung River, which is adjacent to the corridor for the project length. Although impacts to the Chemung River may occur and must be mitigated, a total of less than one acre of federally delineated wetland will be impacted.
