Civil Engineering | Construction Inspection

The Erie County Water Authority (ECWA) retained Watts to provide civil engineering services for the replacement of water distribution mains on George Urban Boulevard, Kennedy Road, and Wanda Avenue in the Town of Cheektowaga, Erie County, New York. The existing lines were six inch (6”) diameter installed in the 1920’s and 1950’s that had deteriorated. About 2,000 lineal feet of eight inch (8”) ductile iron pipe was installed along George Urban Boulevard, approximately 2,250 linear feet of twelve inch (12”) ductile iron pipe was installed along Kennedy Road, and approximately 1,600 linear feet of eight inch (8”) ductile iron pipe was installed along Wanda Avenue. Watts designed, bid, and administered the construction contract as well as providing NICET III construction observation services.
